The Americans with Disabilities Act and After School Programs:
A Conversation with the Child Care Law Center

Are you unsure of your program’s legal obligation to provide reasonable accommodations for children with disabilities?
Are you wondering how your OST program can comply with the 2008 DCYF OST Minimum Standards for Inclusion?
Claire Ramsey, Staff Attorney at the Child Care Law Center, will give a thorough review of the ADA and how it applies to after school programs.  She will discuss:

  • What reasonable accommodation means under the ADA;
  • How your program can meet its obligations to accommodate children with disabilities in its activities;
  • Highlights of other California laws that require accommodations for people with disabilities.

Join us and other after school providers for this presentation and bring your questions about the ADA!
Presented by the Special Needs Inclusion Project, Support for Families of Children with Disabilities.

Note:  This workshop meets the DCYF 2008 Minimum Standard requirement for inclusion training for OST programs (OST 7).  It is especially suitable for after school staff who have already attended the “All Children Belong” training provided by SNIP.
